It’s summer & you can win
a trip to Ireland! What
better reason for the premier boutiques on Maryland Avenue
and State Circle to join together for an Irish Festival.
Whether you’re Irish …or Irish by inclination… this event
is for you. The old world charm of this locals’ favorite
shopping district is the perfect setting to learn about and
appreciate the Irish heritage, which is what the Annapolis
Irish Cultural Society is all about. With a goal to promote
a cultural exchange between the people of Annapolis &
the people of Ireland, AICS was the perfect organization to
involve in this festival. Proceeds will support AICS, which
hopes to bring under-privileged Irish youth to Annapolis
for a visit to learn life skills through our maritime
heritage. Now is your chance! Would you like to visit
Ireland? Buy a $10 raffle from any of the participating
merchants and you might be the lucky winner of airfare for
two to Ireland! Only 500 tickets will be sold, so your
chances are good! All proceeds benefit AICS.
Like an old fashion street festival, Maryland Avenue will
be closed to vehicle traffic for two blocks to make for a
pedestrian-friendly day -- and room for the Irish dancers,
bands and bagpipes!
Remember, every weekend FREE parking is available in the
new government parking garage located off Bladen Street.
Coming into town on Rowe Blvd., turn left on Calvert St. at
the light and take a left on St. Johns Street to enter
garage. An easy walk to Maryland Avenue and State Circle.
